Remarkables summary

The Remarkables Alpine Park is known for its true alpine environment, relaxed atmosphere and sense of fun. Snowboarders, free-skiers and families flock to the mountain’s varied trails and back-country areas. It’s freestyle heaven with jibs for all levels in three terrain parks – including the new Stash at The Remarkables - and Super-pipe. Not-so-serious visitors can forget the boards or skis and enjoy the Ozone Tubing Park. Live music on the deck adds to the ambiance. Beginners will love the new surface conveyor lifts while everyone benefits from new snow-making installed this year. Children aged six and younger get free day passes at The Remarkables Ski Area – a 45-minute drive (26 km) from central Queenstown.

Visitor Reviews of Remarkables

James Perry from AUSTRALIA writes:

Well firstly I had great fun at Remarks, lots of snow, great terrain park, runs were fun and a good mix of ability. The drive was great, very scenic. Now the bad. The runs were very short. The longest taking maybe 3 - 5mins to get to to the bottom, the lifts were antiquated, very slow, lift passes were not electronic so slow and chaotic getting on the lifts. The pistes weren't marked at all and you just had people coming in from all angles at a variety of speeds. I saw 5 people carried away on the ski-stretcher in one afternoon which is not acceptable. The food at the cafe was awful. I'm a bloke and I spent 3 months cruising around India/Bangladesh etc and I know all about average food. This was average. Also the bar closed at 4pm, timed well as the lifts closed at 4pm with lots of thirsty skiers! So to sum up, if there is lots of snow and you don't mind very short runs give it a shot, otherwise give it a wide berth.
